Bull Orthotics provides specialist orthotic care to patients across Northern Ireland from our modern clinic in East Belfast. Led by HCPC-registered orthotist Jonathan Bull, we combine over 20 years of clinical expertise with advanced technology to deliver truly personalised orthotic solutions for foot pain, drop foot, knee osteoarthritis, scoliosis, and complex lower limb conditions.

Comprehensive Orthotic Services Under One Roof

Whether you need custom foot orthotics for plantar fasciitis, an AFO brace for drop foot following stroke, a knee brace for osteoarthritis, or advanced scoliosis bracing, we provide the full spectrum of orthotic care. Our clinic is equipped with 3D foot scanning technology and CAD/CAM fabrication capabilities, allowing us to create precisely engineered devices tailored to your unique biomechanics.

Expert Assessment and Diagnosis

Every patient receives a comprehensive biomechanical assessment to identify the root cause of their symptoms. We don't just treat pain – we analyse how you move, identify biomechanical abnormalities, and design orthotic interventions that address underlying issues. This thorough approach ensures better outcomes and longer-lasting relief.

Evidence-Based Treatment

All our treatments are grounded in current clinical research and best practice guidelines. As a fully qualified and HCPC-registered orthotist, Jonathan Bull maintains active continuing professional development to ensure you receive care that reflects the latest advances in orthotic science. We use proven techniques and materials, supported by clinical evidence, to achieve optimal results.

Personalised Care, Not Production Line Medicine

Unlike large orthotic chains or NHS services constrained by limited time and resources, we take a truly individualised approach. You'll work directly with Jonathan Bull throughout your care journey, from initial assessment through device fabrication and fitting to ongoing follow-up. We allocate sufficient time for each appointment to ensure thorough, unhurried care and give you opportunity to ask questions and understand your treatment fully.

Common Conditions We Treat

Plantar Fasciitis & Heel Pain

Chronic heel pain affecting your daily activities? Our foot pain treatment Belfast specialist service provides custom foot orthotics with targeted arch support, pressure redistribution, and biomechanical correction to address the underlying causes of plantar fasciitis, heel pain and chronic foot pain. Most patients experience significant pain relief within 2-3 weeks of wearing properly prescribed orthotics.

Drop Foot After Stroke

Drop foot dramatically impacts mobility and safety following stroke or nerve injury. Our AFO Belfast specialist service provides ankle-foot orthosis braces that lift the foot during walking, prevent tripping, and improve gait efficiency. We offer both custom-molded AFOs for optimal fit and high-quality stock devices from leading manufacturers like TurboMed for faster provision.

Knee Osteoarthritis

Knee OA doesn't have to mean surgery. Unloader knee braces are clinically proven to reduce pain, improve function, and potentially delay joint replacement by shifting load away from damaged cartilage. We provide expert assessment, precise fitting, and ongoing adjustment to ensure optimal benefit from bracing.

Scoliosis in Adolescents

As official partners with Neja for RSC Cheneau bracing, we provide the most advanced scoliosis bracing available in Northern Ireland. This sophisticated 3D-corrective system applies specific forces to slow or halt curve progression, potentially avoiding surgery for adolescents with curves between 20-45 degrees.

Flat Feet & Overpronation

Fallen arches and excessive pronation can cause foot, ankle, knee, and lower back pain. Our functional foot orthotics provide graduated arch support to control pronation, improve alignment, and reduce strain on supporting structures. Custom devices are carefully balanced to provide effective support while remaining comfortable for all-day wear.

Paediatric Conditions

Children with cerebral palsy, spina bifida, clubfoot, or developmental delays require specialized orthotic care. We have extensive experience in pediatric orthotics, understanding both the technical challenges and the importance of child-friendly communication. We work closely with families and coordinate with other healthcare providers to support development and maximise mobility.

What to Expect from Your Orthotic Journey

1

Initial Consultation

Your 45 minute assessment includes detailed medical history, biomechanical examination, gait analysis, and 3D scanning where appropriate. We'll explain our findings, discuss treatment options, and answer all your questions. No commitment required – the assessment fee covers the consultation whether you proceed with treatment or not.

2

Device Fabrication

If you decide to proceed, we'll take precise measurements using 3D scanning or casting. Custom devices are manufactured to your exact specifications, typically ready within 2-3 weeks. Stock devices can often be fitted immediately or ordered for next-day delivery.

3

Fitting & Adjustment

At your fitting appointment (included in device cost), we ensure perfect fit and comfort, make any necessary adjustments, and provide comprehensive instructions for use and care. Most patients can wear their orthotics immediately, with a gradual break-in period recommended for optimal comfort.

4

Ongoing Support

Follow-up appointments are included to address any issues and optimize your outcome. We remain available for ongoing support, device adjustments, and replacement parts as needed. Many of our patients remain with us for years, returning for new devices as their needs change or orthotics wear out.
